Ronald T. Noyes

Professor (Emeritus)

Introduction:
Prior to retirement in 2004, Dr. Noyes was an extension specialist with expertise in the area of grain storage and handling. Before joining Oklahoma State University, Dr. Noyes was an extension and research agricultural engineer at Purdue University in the mid-1960s. He has also served as Chief Engineer and Vice-President of Beard Industries Inc., Frankfort, IN., a grain dryer manufacturer from 1968-1985.
Dr. Ron Noyes received the Kishida International Award in 2004 for his international grain storage work. Only 1 of these prestigous awards are given per year, and it serves to recognize "outstanding contributions to programs of education, research, development, consultation, or technology transfer outside the United States."

B.S. in Agricultural Engineering, Oklahoma State University (1961)
M.S. in Agricultural Engineering, Oklahoma State University (1964)
Ph.D. in Higher Education, University of Oklahoma (1998)

Chemical handling, storage and applications

Professional Activities:
American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE)
Registered Professional Engineer in Indiana and Oklahoma
Cherokee Strip Chapter of Grain Elevator and Procesing Society (GEAPS)

Dr. Noyes now works as a consultant in grain storage systems engineering, with emphasis on:
Grain handling, storage and drying systems design and management; aeration system design and management; sealing of grain storage units for improved insect management and fumigation; closed loop fumigation (CLF) systems design; grain dust control systems design; grain systems security.
