| The problems identified with the current chute as indicated by W-W Livestock, are described in the following list: 1. Head Gate Latch- The latch to restrict the cattle from backing out of the head catch is unreliable. The latch will jump over the head gate and allow the cattle to back out. 2. Offset if Squeeze- In the application of squeezing small calves the squeeze side must be adjusted all the way in. When the calf is squeeze, the calf’s head is offset from his body. This is undesirable for many different reasons. 3. Tail Gate- The current tail gate is very difficult to open for small children and women. Today, it is more common for children and women to be involved in cattle working which indicates the forces needed to operate the chute correctly must be minimal. 4. Stability- The strap which is designed to hold the squeeze side panel in place allows too much movement. |
