Machine Vision Lab The 1,153 sq. ft. machine vision lab contains several
machine vision systems for the automated detection, analysis
and processing of materials. Recent work by Dr.
Glenn Kranzler has addressed grading and sorting of tree
seedings and grading of fresh meat cuts. The assembly of conveyor
tables on the right is a prototype tree grading system for the
inspection of tree seedings. It measures, evaluates and sorts
seedings at a rate of 10 trees per second. A earlier version
of the system is now in use by the USDA, Forest Service. |
