Undergraduate Computer Laboratory Room 208
General Recommendations and Policies
Fall 1998



Introduction
The computers in Room 208 are a special resource provided to enhance and maximize your educational experience. However, a minimal number of policies are needed to: (a) enable us to continue to meet the computing needs of our students, and (b) allow for efficient management of our departmental computer resources.

Policies

1. Keep the door to Room 208 closed at all times.

2. No food is allowed in Room 208.

3. Computers in Room 208 are for Biosystems Engineering Student use ONLY.

4. DO NOT permanently store data on the local hard drive, i.e. C: and D:.

5. Do not install software applications on the computers without consulting our computer support staff.

6. To report computer related problems, submit a work order on the http:\\help.agen.okstate.edu web page. Computer support personnel are located in Room 117 at 744-7565.

7. Personal home drive space, i.e. H:, is limited to 200 MB.

8. Temporary hard drive space is available on the T: drive. However, files on the T: drive will be automatically deleted if left unchanged for 2 weeks.

9. The M: drive is for teaching materials. Other data must have prior authorization.

10. Network drive assignments:
a) H: Home Drive
b) M: Teaching Shared Drive
c) N: Applications Drive
d) Q: Graphics Support Drive
e) T: Temporary Drive

11. PLEASE keep your work area clean. Any study materials not needed in Room 208 can be TEMPORARILY stored in the Undergraduate Study Room 206.
