Q: Is the reservoir only filled once for all technical and visual tasks?
A: The reservoirs will be mostly full during the construction period. Once construction is complete, the teams will be given a thirty minute period before the technical tasks and aesthetics display to test their setup, aim nozzles, etc. The reservoirs will be filled to the brim after this thirty minute period, and any water added after that point will result in a penalty.
Q: Is the volume of the reservoir the only amount of water we can use?
A: After construction is concluded, the fountain cannot contact the ground outside the footprint of the pool, and both technical tasks restrict the use of stored potential energy that would result from an elevated reservoir. The use of additional reservoirs would be difficult given these rules.
Q: What type(s) of pumps do teams commonly use as a source of energy for their fountain?
A: In the past we have proved the wgp95pw to teams.
Q: During the Kickball Bowling and Obstacle Course, what type of terrain/flooring is used?
A: This is a question for which we do not yet have an answer. Currently, we are assuming that it will be a type of pavement. We will contact all the team captains as soon as we have this information.
Q: In the rules it states The fountain may not contact the ground outside the footprint of the pool, the question is whether this rule holds during the construction process?
A: This rule only applies during the evaluation of the aesthetics and technical tasks. This rule does not apply during the construction phase of the competition.
